ComeUnity Fridge

For Lilac's first community service project, she wanted to give back to her Staten Island Community through the Forest Ave COMEunity Fridge. As many people have lost stable sources of food or income due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Lilac wanted to help in a way that was both COVID-friendly and effective: donating food to a community fridge. Serving as a way to provide relief to those experiencing food insecurity, community fridges allow for contactless service—anyone can check inside and pick up food necessities.

In a mass contribution to the fridge, each girl donated nonperishable foods such as cereal, granola bars, and canned vegetables or fruit. Lilac also donated fresh produce on the day of dropping these items off.
